A woman at the wheel of the BMW Vision M Next
When it comes to presenting a new car to the public, the male gender is usually put in the driver’s seat. But not in the latest campaign for the BMW Vision M Next. A woman shows us the dynamic future of the BMW brand. She sits in a conspicuous and striking electrified car in a comfortable sitting position and shows how digital intelligence can make the self-determined driving experience more real and emotional in the future.
The exterior emphasises the look of a sports car, the interior highlights the driver. The BMW Vision M Next shows what the joy of self-driving can look like in the future.
BMW Vision M Next represents the future BMW experience world "BOOST". While "EASE" embodies the experience of autonomous driving and is represented with the BMW Vision iNEXT, "BOOST" is dedicated to the active driving experience. The BOOST Pod is obviously positioned in the interior and forms the interface between the driver and the car. It bundles all operating options and information on three viewing levels in the driver's direct field of vision.
Iconic elements of the BMW Turbo and the innovative BMW i8 have been integrated into the exterior of the BMW Vision M Next and are interpreted in a trend-setting manner. The vision vehicle stands out due to its striking color concept, a "color blocking" and gives the car a modern, individual and dynamic look. The BMW Vision M Next can be automatically unlocked via face recognition as soon as the driver approaches.
The interior impresses with high quality, innovative materials and minimalism. The focus is consistently on the driver and in the extremely comfortable sitting position he / she can immerse himself completely in the driving experience.
The BMW Vision M NEXT is a progressive hybrid sports car that makes a very clear and confident statement, in terms of both appearance and interaction.” – Domagoj Dukec, Vice President Design BMW
The BMW Vision M NEXT combines design and driving experience as well as the sportiness of BMW's history with the technology of the future. Besides it illustrates how the the future kit of the BMW Group D + ACES (autonomous driving, connectivity, electrification, services and design) can upgrade the driving dynamics experience in the future.
The presented vision vehicle is the result of an internal competition at the BMW Group. Designers competed against each other with their ideas and visualisations. The process from the first idea to the finished BMW Vision M NEXT took around 18 months.
