ellectric goes MBFW Berlin
Last week from 13th until 15th of January 2020, the MBFW took place in Berlin. As part of its realignment, the MBFW changed its location to the Kraftwerk. In addition to the shows on the catwalk on the upper floor, the ground floor was accessible not only for the specialist public but also for consumers. There was a pop-up exhibition with creative works from Armin Morbach, who is considered as the multi talent of the fashion and beauty industry, some designs of the presented fashion designers, the Vision EQ Silver Arrow, the concept car of Mercedes-Benz and a chill-out area with a cafe. 11.000 visitors were onsite while 50.000 visits were on the livestream to see the 16 shows.
On Monday, 13th January the MBFW started with the opening show with fashion talents from South Africa. Since 25 years Mercedes-Benz is committed to global fashion and this year Clive Rundle, Floyd Avenue, Rich Mnisi and Viviers staged the group show to open the Fashion Week in Berlin.
On Tuesday we attended the Neonyt Show where a mix of outdoor and performance brands in futuristic looks were presented. These multi-label looks have been composed from almost 100 sustainable designer collections and have been curated once again by the renowned stylist and co-founder of Fashion Council Germany Claudia Hofmann.
Some impressions of the exhibition on the ground floor at Kraftwerk.
The Vision EQ Silver Arrow show car celebrated its world premiere last year in August 2019 at the Monterey Car Week. The single seater is a tribute to the record car W 125 from 1937.
Some impressions from the two shows we attended – “Mercedes-Benz presents fashion talents from South Africa” and "Neonyt”.
We are highly impressed by the new concept of the MBFW and the great location and look forward to the next Fashion Week, June 29th – July, 1st 2020.
