The first electrified wingsuit flight – powered by BMW i
After three years of development, the first electric wingsuit recently took its maiden flight. Based on the vision of Austrian professional base jumper and skydiver Peter Salzmann to raise wingsuit sport to a new level, BMW i and Designworks made Salzmann’s dream come true and built a fully electric wingsuit reaching a speed of over 300 km/h. The entire adventure is documented in a series of short films. . With this project BMW shows impressively how the eDrive technology is able to make a lasting change to the individual mobility experience – not only on the road. The BMW Group presents the first electric drive system for a wing suit within its framework of the #NEXTGen 2020.
